    An extended look premieres on Netflix

    An extended look video premiered on Netflix at 3 PM EDT. The same video went up on Rockstar's own channels at 9 PM EDT the same day.

  2. June 24, 2026

    Editions and prices revealed

    Rockstar revealed the editions and their prices: a Standard Edition at 79.99 € / $79.99 and a digital-only Ultimate Edition at 99.99 € / $99.99 with exclusive digital bonus content. The physical box contains a download code rather than a disc. Pre-orders opened the next day, June 25, rolling out at midnight local time, with the Vintage Vice City Pack as a pre-order bonus through November 20, 2026, and 30 days of GTA+ for digital pre-orders.

  3. May 28, 2026

    Take-Two reaffirms the release date

    During its earnings call, Take-Two reaffirmed the November 19, 2026 release date. No new details about the game were added.

  4. November 6, 2025

    A new date: November 19, 2026

    Rockstar Games announced a new release date of November 19, 2026, moving the game from May 26, 2026. The studio apologised for the wait and said the extra months allow it to finish the game with the level of polish players expect.

  5. May 6, 2025

    Trailer 2

    Rockstar released the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, four days after announcing the delay.

    Delay to May 26, 2026

    Rockstar announced that the game would move from Fall 2025 to May 26, 2026.

  7. December 4, 2023

    Trailer 1

    The first trailer arrived one day earlier than planned, after it leaked online. It introduced the protagonists Lucia and Jason, the state of Leonida, and the return to Vice City.

    Development officially confirmed

    Rockstar Games officially confirmed that development on the next Grand Theft Auto was under way.
